Preventing the Occurrence and Spread of COVID-19: Bill #3219

Today, on March, 17 2020  the Parliament of Ukraine adopted the Bill #3219 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine aimed at Preventing the Occurrence and Spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)”.

 

Inter alia, the Bill provides, that due to the introduction of quarantine the administrative liability shall not apply to the foreigners and stateless persons, who could not exit the territory of Ukraine or could not access the units of the State Migration Service of Ukraine and apply for the extension of stay on the territory of Ukraine and/or the exchange of the temporary/permanent residence permits, in case if such violations occurred during the period or as a result of the quarantine.

 

Please note, that the mentioned rules shall apply to the foreign citizens and stateless persons, who were legally present on the territory of Ukraine as of the date of the beginning of the quarantine (March, 16, 2020).

 

Moreover, as of the date of the beginning of the quarantine (March, 16, 2020) and for the whole period of quarantine and restrictive measures related to the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), the running of the legally established terms for administrative and other services obtaining and the terms of such services provision will stop. The running of such terms will resume as of the date of termination of quarantine, considering the period before they were stopped.
