For those who have never been to Ukraine, but are planning to visit it in the near future, the incredible opportunity has opened up from 2019 - to obtain a visa without leaving home. The meeting with Ukraine for many foreigners begins precisely with obtaining a visa. This first impression should be positive, and for this Ukraine is implementing a new project called "electronic visa".
The Electronic Visa System (e-Visa) is a method of applying for a visa from anywhere in the world.
From November 1, 2020, the registration procedure has become even simpler, and the visa fee has been reduced from 85 USD to 20 USD for a single-entry visa. Also, novelty there is a possibility of obtaining a visa for a double trip.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has developed the most simplified process for obtaining an electronic visa, that will allow for effective migration control in turn.
The main advantages of an e-visa are:
• remote submission of documents at a convenient time;
• obtaining a visa without visiting a consular organization;
• the opportunity to track online status of visa processing;
• constant information support of applicants evisa@mfa.gov.ua;
• processing time (urgently - 1 day; normally - 3 days);
• cost (one-time – 20 USD; two-time – 30 USD).
e-Visas are available for citizens of the following countries:
Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Bahrain, Bolivia, Bhutan, Vanuatu, Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras, Grenada, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Cambodia, Qatar, Costa Rica, Kuwait, Laos, Mauritius, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Micronesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Oman, Palau, Peru, El Salvador, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Singapore, Suriname, Thailand, Timor, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Fiji, Jamaica.
E-Visa type C is issued for travel to Ukraine for business, private, tourist purposes, for the treatment purposes as well, activities in the field of culture, science, education, sports, for the purpose of performing official duties by a foreign correspondent or a representative of a foreign media.
To apply for an e-visa, you need to take several simple steps:
• register on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine website;
• fill out a questionnaire;
• upload the necessary documents;
• pay the consular fee and get an electronic visa.
An electronic visa provides an opportunity to stay in Ukraine for up to 30 days. You have to apply for an e-visa at least 10 days before the direct trip.
Travelers receive an e-visa by email. We recommend you to print the received e-visa and have it with you upon arrival in the country and during your stay in Ukraine.
Just an interesting fact from the statistical reports: The smallest applicant for an electronic visa to Ukraine was only 2 months old. The oldest is 96 years old.
